DESCRIPTION
The building of the Courts and the Provincial Court of Lleida, judicial equipment executed in several phases from 1984 to 2014, consists of five levels of elongated and sinuous geometric configuration, which adapts to the topography of the southern slope of the hill of the Seu Vella through a large retaining wall executed previously. The spaces for the location of the complementary program, object of this architectural performance, are located inside the last extension, of 1,800m2 of surface, built in the area of an old contiguous green zone. This extension consisted of a large empty container that only had the façade on Canyeret Street and a landscaped roof at the level of the accesses to the courts, executed on pillars of irregular distribution.
The planimetry of the intervention presents an undulating matrix figure, picking up the position of the existing pillars, organizing the lobby (new main access of the entire building), the large waiting room, the view rooms and the archival area. The waiting room captures the natural light of the facade of Canyeret street and the skylights located on the garden roof, which through an interior glass facade, reaches the interior spaces before the halls. A coating of black aluminum sheet gives continuity to the entire project.
