DESCRIPTION

The new facilities of Maternal and Child Hospital, building located within the hospital complex Arrixaca Virgin of Murcia, means the realization of the ambitious health care and for the renovation and expansion of the reference equipment for the autonomous community of Murcia and places also this operation, as a driver of overall regeneration process of this important and historic medical institution. Today the building, somewhat deteriorated over the course of the years, has been a constant burden for that activity has been matched by the necessary updating and this drives this adaptation and comprehensive reform to adapt their facilities to these care centers require.

A criterion for optimal use of existing fields determines, after careful analysis, what constructive aspects, functional and so are subject to recovery, reform, replacement or new work. Thus all services and areas are integrated into the new set so they can comply with the requirements specified in the functional program. The location, size and area ratio, enables coordination in this proposal and engagement by noting some stages from a calendar and adaptive load activity that never ceases healthcare, consolidating resources and maintaining much of the hospital image and heritage it has.

The front volume which produces the main entrance, is the place for visitors paths at level 0, for outpatient, Surgical Center, Day Hospital, Pediatrics, Cafeteria and external users. Support areas and technical assistance for outpatient care also located on level -1, diagnostic imaging, delivery area, Mother Day Hospital, Emergency and ICU. An auxiliary block contains the outpatient Pediatrics with access to two levels in the same dimension.
