DESCRIPTION
The volume of this equipment is defined by a rectangular structure resulting from the adoption of two complementary planimetric composition systems, one at the ground floor level by three bodies longitudinal direction southwest, northeast, which meet the three different uses of the program, Port Police, the three areas of preservation and the archive, and the second to first floor level in a “U” structure that connects developed lower bodies of the remaining uses and location of local facilities. The next volume to North Street, stands a more height to locate the CPD, as well as a local level for technical facilities and location of telecom masts receptors.
The organization of the three main volumes, separated by courtyards, allows building perimeters independently and with enough work areas to be executed in phases. Also this linear arrangement of the three bodies allows the possible changes in the size of the services within the different areas.
The overall appearance is that of a large volume, yet lightweight for its volumetric treatment while establishing a dialogue with neighboring buildings and a formal relationship with this of textures, colors and objects representing industrial the overall image of land at the port of Barcelona.
