DESCRIPTION

The new facilities Pere Virgili Health Park mean the realization of an ambitious goal to provide the buildings of the former Military Hospital about uses for welfare and services. This operation is also driving a process of regeneration of this historic hospital setting and an opportunity for updating a valuable urban area of the city.

The site is a place down south topography. Among the current access point to the site and the central platform of the set, there is a gap of about 15 m. The situation is a central location in the city, and since 1992 has a proximity fastpath, Ronda de Dalt, in the west of the site. Inside the enclosure, a set of linear composition marked pavilions grouped around a space - space.

The site appears as a broad domain of great spaciousness, with high incidence volumetric buildings, but that, however, allows a high degree of flexibility in the use of the various institutions, agencies, companies, etc… to be located in the Health Park, thus giving it an image and end the whole structure that respects the values of its original, but adapting its facilities to the modern demands of equipment like this.

A criterion for the optimal use of existing facilities and buildings determined, in a detailed analysis, which services are subject to recovery and reform, and which ones replacement by new development.
